I recently read You Are a Badass by Jen Sincero, and it hit home.
Not only do I love the book, but I’m obsessed with her You Are a Badass Deck—60 cards filled with wisdom and encouragement.
Today, I pulled the card that said, "The only failure is quitting. Everything else is just gathering information."
Isn’t that the truth?
I’ve had the pleasure of meeting so many incredible Directors of Nursing (DONs) across nearly every state in the U.S., as well as in Canada and Australia.
Whether they are my clients or have purchased my products, I’m always amazed by each encounter.
The courage and tenacity DONs have to step into leadership roles is nothing short of inspiring.
And isn’t it incredible how technology allows us to connect across continents?
To every Director of Nursing reading this—when times get tough, give yourself a pat on the back. It takes real guts to step into a leadership role, knowing you’re responsible for the well-being of both residents and staff.
That kind of responsibility shows me that you have grit, tenacity, and the desire to make a lasting impact in the lives of others.
So when you feel like you’ve failed, I promise you, you haven’t.
You’re simply gathering information that will enhance your experience.
You are a BADASS! Own it.
